The Atelier

Every gown begins as a conversation in our Osu atelier.

We listen to how you want to feel on the day, then draft, drape and hand-finish a gown that exists for no one else. Our silk is cut in Accra, our kente is woven to order in Bonwire, and every seam is closed by a small team of artisans who believe a wedding gown should be as singular as the woman wearing it.

The Process

From first sketch to final stitch.

Four to six months. Three to four fittings in Accra or London. One gown that could belong to no one else.

  1. 01

    Consultation

A private appointment in Osu, or over tea in London, to talk through your day, your silhouette and the details you have been dreaming of.

  2. 02

    Design

Cesca sketches your gown by hand and selects silks, lace and beading with you, swatch by swatch. Kente is commissioned from Bonwire in your chosen colours.

  3. 03

    Fittings

Three to four fittings over several months, from a calico toile to the final silk, so every seam sits exactly where it should.

  4. 04

    Final Gown

Your gown is hand-finished, pressed and presented in the atelier, wrapped in kente, ready for the day it was made for.

Kind words

I never felt like I was buying a dress. I felt like I was being listened to, and then somehow the gown already knew me.

Akosua Mensah-Bonsu Married in Aburi, wearing Adwoa

Every fitting felt like an afternoon with a friend who happened to be a genius with silk. The kente at my waist was my grandmother's colours.

Nana Ama Owusu-Ansah Married in Kumasi, wearing Efua

My mother cried at the first toile. By the last fitting we all did. It is the most personal thing I have ever owned, and it was made a continent away from home.
